The Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) service firm, Iflix has explained how it planned to make all-year-round entertainment easily accessible to Nigerians with just N6,392.
The Country Manager of Iflix, Ngozi Maduke-Dozie who disclosed this in Lagos also boasted that the firm has partnerships with over 220 studios and distributors to maintain an edge as a leading online video streaming platform.
“Our arrival on Nigerian entertainment scene is revolutionary. As a leading online video streaming platform which boasts of partnerships with over 220 studios and distributors, we are allowing users to have access to international, regional and local content which ranges from Asian, European, American and African movies, TV shows, Documentaries and cartoons for as low as 799 monthly or an annual subscription at the rate of 6,392,” Madueke- Dozie said.
The country manager added that the subscription service is targeted at the mass market and Iflix is quite excited to launch in Nigeria because it has a lot to “offer from wide range movie selection from around the globe.” She said with the Iflix Mobile app, the Google Play and Apple play store, Nigerians will experience new video entertainment.
Maduke-Dozie also explained how the entertainment tech firm has been aware of Nigerian socio-cultural configurations and would not be willing to make available films that may be deemed insulting to sensibilities or ones that ridicule cultural values.
She said the advent of Iflix in Nigeria is in recognition of the internet savvy of many Nigerians and the need to democratize accessibility to entertainment without necessarily impinging on people intellectual works. She said to ensure smooth relationship between the firm and Nollywood, a working relationship has been established as it is believed that such has to be beneficial to all parties concerned.
