The Managing Director, Edo State Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), Dr Tony Ikpasaja, has disclosed that the agency has registered and processed over 9000 Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) between February and April, 17 2025.

Ikpasaja, who disclosed this in Benin when the Executive of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) paid him a courtesy visit, said this was made possible as a result of the new software acquired by the agency

He said the agency achieved the figure within a short period despite the challenges of shutting down the agency’s system by the consultant employed by the immediate administration of Godwin Obaseki to run the operations of the agency.

“We inherited Over 7500 files that were not attended to when we took over. The files belong to applicants who want their land to be registered and captured in the EdoGis database.

“As of today, I can boldly tell you that we have captured and processed over 9000 files of certificate of Occupancy. We have also been signing and issuing out the Certificates of Occupancy.

“Within the next few weeks or months, we will clear the applications we have, and we will give Nigerians and Edo people their Certificates of Occupancy,” he added.
