Wike spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt during the presentation of buses to all the 23 local Government Chairmen of the party in Rivers State.
“They can sit in the government house and approve whatever amount of money they like for Governor Amaechi to spend. But let me tell you all now, Governor Amaechi and his friends will account for all the monies that they are appropriating and spending now.
“Once the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the victory of President Jonathan, we will immediately shut down the Port Harcourt International Airport and all land and sea boarders in Rivers State to prevent Governor Amaechi from escaping. Does he think we don’t know that he is planning to run away? But he and his cohorts will not succeed.”
 “All they can do thereafter is to lock themselves inside government house and at the appropriate time we will go there and pick them up one after the other. Believe me Governor Amaechi will surely account for all our monies that he his frittering away now. We will not allow the looters of our treasury to run away from justice” he said.
Wike stressed that no amount of humiliation from Governor Amaechi or his agents will prevent the PDP from winning the 2015 general election in Rivers State. He also challenged Amaechi to tell the world how much he (Wike) stole when he was chief of staff to Amaechi from 2007 to 2011.
According to him “Amaechi is afraid. We will not beg him. Why is Amaechi afraid of everybody? He is afraid the Speaker of the House of Assembly will betray him. He is afraid that the Chief Judge recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC) will betray him. Why is Amaechi afraid of everybody?  When did Amaechi become an Oracle or priest that everybody will now make an appearance to swear”.  
The Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, who also spoke at the event said that Governor Amaechi is a temporary occupant in government house and that the PDP will not allow him to choose his successor in 2015, because Rivers State is for PDP.
 “Rivers State is PDP and Governor Amaechi cannot go against the wishes of the people. He has taken all our money to Lagos to develop the All Progressives Congress, APC. Amaechi has also taken some of our money to Ghana. Amaechi can’t enslave us. Enough is enough. Governor Amaechi says billions of naira are missing in the Federation Account, what about the trillions of naira that are missing in Rivers State” he stated.
Secondus called on the youths not be enticed with money to perpetrate violence before, during and after the 2015 general elections, adding that the people of Rivers State are known to be peaceful and law abiding.
He enjoined PDP members to vote for President Jonathan in the 2015 presidential elections.
Responding, Rivers State Commissioner for Information Mrs Ibim Semenitari said Governor Amaechi is not afraid of any probe. She said the governor has been rendering account of his stewardship to Rivers people and will continue to do so since it is their right to know how their money is spent.
She challenged Wike to also render his stewardship since he is also a public servant.
