We need a return of the old Nigeria

Gone are the days Nigeria used to be a peaceful and united country, we live in harmony like we were born by single parents, people come from other countries to settle in Nigeria because of how peaceful we lived.

The old Nigeria was the Nigeria where there was no discrimination, tribalism, favouritism, bias, ethnicity, inhumanity etc.

People enter any state within the country without any fear, some travel to a very far place in search of work to do without having any relation or friends there and even settle there, some go as far as making family over there.

In the old Nigeria, we saw each other as one, we loved each other so much, we believed that an injury to one is an injury to all, we don’t kill each other for any reason like today, and there was a lot of work for people to earn a living.

The youths were persuaded to have western education so they could fill the vacancies in offices, the lives and properties of the citizen were very prioritized by our leaders, people want to rule to make a positive change, not for selfish interest.

Then, students were promoted from one class to the other because they are qualified not because their parents wanted them to, people got promoted at work because they have worked hard and they deserved it not because the boss is his uncle, aunt, godfather, or whatever.

Today, we have an engineer working as a cashier in the bank, a microbiologist working in a media organization as a reporter or presenter, a journalist as a minister of agriculture, just because of connection which I call corruption, students don’t care about the course to be studied in school anymore because they end up not discharging their duty as per what they studied.

All hands should be on deck to bring back the old Nigeria, to bring back our love, peace, unity, harmony, the zeal to serve without selfishness, positive change e.t.c.

Governments at all levels in Nigeria, lawmakers, citizens of the country at all spheres should come together in the same way our then heroes came together as one and fought for us, but this time to bring back the lost glory of Nigeria.
