I believe reducing parties will not only create peace but also government’s wasting money on parties which hold no office. If too many people are involved in something, it will never be done well. As we already know, too many cooks spoil the broth.
This has caused division in the country and led to divide-and-rule practice which politicians use for dictatorship and manipulation, thus sabotaging our efforts.
The fewer the better; few parties will give all citizens equal opportunity to hold political offices in the country. This will promote unity and wellbeing in Nigeria. It will also provide true democracy. Take USA for example which has more population than us, but we hear of Democratic and Republican parties only.
To ensure growth, protection and defence of democracy and good governance in Nigeria, we must reduce our political parties to get peace, rapid development and make good political participation. One is confused which party to belong because they are too many. Interest of minorities will be protected if fewer parties are involved.
Factions should not give room for new political parties. INEC should not sit and watch sheep in wolves’ clothing that are aimed at destabilizing our nation to achieve their goal. Ours is to protect the integrity or Nigeria and respect it. Rather they should think of making positive useful contributions to the advancement and progress and well being of Nigeria there by rendering assistance to appropriate lawful agencies in maintenance of law and order not division. Political thugs or hoodlums are waiting for such things to happen. I don’t pray for this.
