Kutcha made the appeal during a press conference on Friday to mark the university’s 21st convocation ceremony billed to take place at the school premises Saturday.
“We need more hostels for NUGA. We live far from town and it will help us a lot if we get helping hands to build us hostels,” he said.
The vice chancellor, who expressed willingness to partner with willing private organizations to expand hostel facilities in the university, regretted that lack of accommodation has forced many students to continue to live off campus.
He said that even if more hostels were built for the forthcoming games, it would be easier for the institution to convert them for its students use after the programme as a means of solving the inadequate accommodation challenge just as it would help to monitor students and to a large extent control security.
Meanwhile, Kutcha maintained that the university has commenced work on several projects including the indoor sports hall for NUGA games.
