Communities in the Ajingi Local Government Area of Kano State have urged the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to tackle the various challenges hindering effective education delivery in their area.
Among the key issues identified are a shortage of teachers, and insufficient learning facilities including infrastructure and teaching materials. Save The Children, a non-governmental organisation focusing on children’s education, conveyed these concerns on behalf of the communities during a community engagement session with Kano SUBEB officials.

Ibrahim Haruna, the Social Behaviour Change Manager at the NGO, explained that the engagement aimed to create a platform for communities to interact with relevant authorities and policymakers regarding the obstacles impacting education delivery in their communities.
Ajingi is noted to have a significant number of out-of-school children, making it one of the LGAs in Kano with this challenge. The Partnership for Learning and Education in Nigeria (PLANE) project is actively addressing education issues in the state, including in Ajingi.
