The Principal of the Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Abaji, Hajiya Rukaiyyat Adaviruku, has said the school’s goal is for students to acquire values and life skills that will help them live better lives in tomorrow’s world.
Adaviruku stated this in her welcome address on the occasion of the graduation ceremony of 114 students of the Class of 2019 at the school on Saturday.
She said it was in pursuance of the school’s goal that a modern fish pond was being constructed to boost the entrepreneurial skills of students in the sector.
She said the school also saw the need to improve security network and embarked on the installation of solar system and CCTV gadgets in the school.
She added that the school has also constructed four blocks of additional toilets to enhance sanitation of the school.
Also speaking, the chairman of the FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) Alhaji Musa Yahaya Muhammad, represented by head of department for Curriculum, Mr. Goro Alhamdu, commended the school management for its efforts in keeping the flag flying.
He congratulated the graduating students and urged them to be good ambassadors of the school wherever they went.
