Group Managing Director Churchgate Mr Vinay Mahtani who took this reporter on tour of facilities in the centre said his company is poised to fill a gap and end capital flight in Nigeria.
He said many wealthy Nigerians who invest in far away destinations because what they desire are not available in Nigeria.
 “This is more than business. It’s tourism. It’s luxury. It’s lifestyle! People who visit are awed, they marvel,” Mahtani expressed.
“This is for convenience. You don’t have to maintain it. We envisage having the skyscrapers of New York and Hong Kong.
“We’ll deliver the best quality in the country. This is the biggest project in northern Nigeria. We make no shortcuts,” he told Daily Trust.
The World Trade Centre has two towers – residential and commercial in the central business district of Abuja. The residential one is 24 storeys with 119 flats while the commercial one is 25 floors with 33,000sqm rentable space. The two towers are so far the tallest in the city.
Sale of flats and office space in the towers started since 2013. Clients are coming from within and outside Nigeria to put in their stakes.
In the residential tower, a one-bedroom unit of 130sqm sells for $768,226.68. A two-bedroom goes for $1,483,271.73 while a three-bedroom house costs $1,536,453.36.
A buyer can as well go for a three-bedroom duplex for $1,542,366.09. There are two-bedroom, five-bedroom and six-bedroom penthouses based on request. Tower Two which is for office use sells 301.52sqm minimum, costing $1,785,058.71. Here, a customer may take a whole floor. This is calculated as 301sqm multiplied by four.
Each penthouse can hold a cocktail for 100 persons. One of the penthouses is already sold.
All necessary home furniture and appliances are provided in the Italian marble-finish rooms.  Furniture are in three packages – traditional, contemporary and neo-classical. There is room for individual orders. An off-taker can move in with only their suitcases because everything is taken care of.
One in the tower enjoys 360 degrees view of the city of Abuja. If the rail line under construction is completed, it will take only few minutes ride from the airport to the centre.
Mahtani said the centre is planned in such a way that thousands of workers there can daily commute easily from the satellite towns where accommodation is cheap.
The developer promised to complete works end of last year but this did not happen. A crane buckled a top one of the towers causing delays in work. Now it is estimated that the centre will be delivered by end of this year. So far, 75 percent of the residential apartments has been sold.
