Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday on phone, Mamuda who is clearly the smallest player in the NPL said Sunshine Stars boast of all the big names in the league but his club comes into the match with determination to win.

He said football is not about names and popularity but the ability to play according to game plan.

Mamuda said Jigawa have set up a game plan which the players are going to execute to the latter in today’s match.

“We are like the underdogs in tomorrow’s (today) match but that is not going to weigh us down. Their big names won’t scare us.

“Jigawa is qualified to play in the NPL and that is why we are here. Having played some matches now, we have adjusted to the setting. We have a game plan and if we play according it, I don’t see Sunshine Stars stopping us from picking our second victory”, he said.

Mamuda however said playing so many matches without breathing space has taken a great toll on the players but they have since got used to it.

“It’s difficult playing without rest but we are not the only club that is facing the stress. As professional players we have adjusted but we are hoping that things would get back to normal”.
