Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State said he has received second tranche of the State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SIFTAS) grant, and had sets aside a percentage to pay pension and gratuity to local government retirees.
The governor, who disclosed this at the government house, observed that pensioners at local government level have not been receiving their monthly pensions.
He said that 5 per cent or less of the money would also be devoted to the payment of gratuity of retired workers at the state government level.
Similarly, the governor said Nasarawa state was selected to kick-start the pilot National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP) among selected states that includeAdamawa and plateau.
