The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP backed by the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike  said it has successfully uploaded the names and particulars of their presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC portal. 

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, while reacting to reports that the PDP was among those yet to upload their presidential candidates said, the report is not true.

The party said for the record, the Peoples Democratic Party “successfully uploaded the names and particulars of its Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates to the INEC nomination portal at exactly 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, 10 July 2026, in full compliance with the Commission’s requirements and within the stipulated timeline.

Daily Trust had reported yesterday that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was among the political parties that failed to upload the names of their presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. 

A source at the INEC had informed our correspondent that the PDP was among the three parties yet to submit the particulars of its presidential and vice presidential candidates. The source when confronted later said at the time he spoke with our correspondent on Tuesday at 10:31 pm, the commission was yet to receive such details from the party.  He insisted that the names were only uploaded after he spoke with our correspondent. He promised to check the exact time the names were uploaded. 

He,however, failed to pick his calls yesterday when our correspondent followed up with calls to remind him of his promise to substantiate the information.
