The Eugenia Abu Media team centre was opened in an effort to encourage reading culture among Nigerians, as well as give out professional writing training.
Eugenia Abu a veteran broadcaster, made this known on Thursday during the opening of the center in Maitama Amusement Park Abuja.
According to her, reading is very important, as such people should inculcate the habit of reading, adding that parents should expose their children to books.
“When people come into the bookshop, there is the café, library where you can read books even if you do not want to buy, spa and collection of many interesting things that you can enjoy. We are going to have a book club for women, teenagers, and storytelling for younger ones,’’ she said.
The chairman of the occasion, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari said it is a welcome development and called on people to support the vision and make it sustainable. “We want more Eugenias to mentor hundreds of Nigerians, especially the young, and to show that there is a future for the young and they have to also take it in their own hands without depending on government jobs.” He said.
