The former Falcons gaffer, speaking to reporters ahead of the all-important clash at the Teslim Balogun stadium added that the disappointment of losing out on the Premier League title will spur his side on to achieve victory against arch rivals Dolphins.
“I have told my players that we can’t afford to lose the Federation Cup after losing the Premier League to Kano Pillars, and they have all promised to beat Dolphins today, on the league, everybody knew we had the chance of winning the trophy, but the draw we got at Dolphins could not help the situation, but I’m still happy with the Champions League ticket we got at the end of the season” Ikhana said.
Dolphins are aiming for a fifth cup triumph; while Enyimba are on track for a fourth victory in the cup competition after they won last year’s final against Warri Wolves.
The cracking tie would also see Nigeria’s domestic league’s top marksmen in the mould of Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh and Dolphins Emem Eduok clash, the two players scored over 40 goals between them while Udoh became the first player to score 23 goals in a single season, Eduok also broke record for most goals scored in a single match when he netted six times against Nembe City.
