WED: Foundation tasks Nigerians on healthy environment

The Founder and President of the Foundation, Pastor Yohanna Buru, in a statement issued to mark the day lamented pollution of the environment from different sources including air pollution, felling of trees, dumping of refuse, noise and mass killing of people whose remains are not properly buried, thereby causing environmental pollution and spread of diseases.
“All these affect our environment negatively and by implication disrupt the peaceful co-existence of the people. Every form of environmental pollution affects the peaceful coexistence of the citizenry and could cause serious diseases,” he said.
He, therefore, appealed to the people of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large to imbibe the habit of protecting and keeping their environment clean.
“We must work together towards defending and protecting our environment from being destroyed. We must learn to clear our drainages, avoid dumping of refuse indiscriminately, stop unnecessary felling of trees as well as stop the killings and be our brother’s keepers. A healthy environment breeds peace while environmental pollution affects our peace,” he said.
