The relevance of libraries in this age of information technology cannot be over emphasized. Notwithstanding the low turnout of visitors, researchers, students, and others in our libraries nowadays, still updating and stocking it with relevant hard and e-copies of books, journal, etc is a great national service that should be a great priority to the National Library.

I must commend the present Librarian General of the nation, Prof Veronica Anunobi for her effort in digitizing and revitalizing national libraries across the nation, still, much need to be done. On this I am calling on her to address the problems affecting the branch of the library in Kano which is facing a lot of challenges, like burnt offices, leaking roof, small space, among others. It is high time the permanent office of the library be built and equip with latest state of art that any modern library can boost of.
