Officials of the FCTA development control department in zone 6 of Abuja deserves a big commendation for the beautiful work they are now doing towards sanitizing Abuja the capital city through the demolishing of some illegal structures.

FCTA residents have of recent noticed that the demolitions have spread from Bwari and Gwagwalada Area Councils where illegal structures including structures that were constructed on water and sewage lines particularly in some satellite towns have been removed. These actions deserve commendations and should be extended to other area council as Abuja is the face of Africa.

It is important to support the actions of these officials who are determined to sanitize the Federal capital city as envisaged by the planners of the city.

The new Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Umar Shuaib, has recently assured that determined efforts will be made to ensure that the city is kept clean and beautiful. The coordinator had also re-assured that all stakeholders were determined to implement various provisions of the laws that will ensure the cleanness and beauty of Abuja.

Meanwhile, even casual visitors have now started to notice that FCTA’s greening programme has started to succeed in making Abuja to look a little bit more beautiful.

Abuja had before the current action which is being taken by the Mohammed Musa Bello’s administration could be said to be a little bit grey in many areas especially along some of the express roads leading to the city. However, with the actions being taken the situation will be changed for the better as expected by FCT residents and even visitors to the city.

It has also been observed that FCTA has started the rehabilitation of some inter-city roads within the city. Some roads are also being beautified. This include the Abuja Airport road with many of the road shoulders being kept clean  with flowers to be planted to enhance the beautifulness of the road.
