The Comptroller General, NCS, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, says the Service will continue in its quest for trade facilitation and accountability in its communication to Nigerians.

The CG stated this at the 2024 opening ceremony of the Public Relations Conference,NCS, which was held in Abuja, recently, with the theme: “Navigating the Horizon.” The Evolving Paradigm Shift in the Public Relations Activities of Nigeria Customs Service.

He said: “We have to align what we do with objective of the President and the federal government in carrying out our mandate and effective communication because that is the only way Nigerians will know and understand what we are doing,”

He added that “there is need for continuous innovation and capacity  building for officers of the Service as Public Relations is evolving in a technologically advanced world,”

Also speaking, The National Public Relations Officer, of Customs, Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, stated that the long term strategic plan in quest for effective communication which laid a solid foundation for this transformative journey of the Customs in its mandate especially at a time when the country requires trade facilitation and revenue
