Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Isa Sadiq Achida has said the incoming government in the state will review all the last-minute appointments made by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Achida disclosed this at a press conference yesterday in Sokoto.
He said some of the recent actions of Governor Tambuwal’s administration were clearly taken to frustrate the APC government even before it comes on board.
“It is common knowledge that the outgoing PDP administration has already committed monumental atrocities to the economic and social life of Sokoto State such that even the most benevolent leadership will require extraordinary effort to surmount.

“To add insult to injury, the PDP government is now engaged in making new appointments into the higher echelon of the state Civil Service, making new appointments in traditional institutions, recruiting new and in some cases irrelevant staff and even giving contracts/appointments to retired civil servants.
“There are also cases of allocation of plots of land and public properties to individuals. It is rather contradictory for a government that is struggling to pay salaries to engage in the luxury of creating new offices requiring huge sums of money to run.
“It is even more suspicious that where three officers have retired, the Sokoto State government is replacing them with thirty or more officers of the same grading. This is no doubt a recipe for crisis. Any such appointments and orders made to preempt our government will be subject to review and where they infringe with any extant laws, will surely be set aside.”
