The family of the kidnapped famous Kano Qur’anic reciter, Sheikh Ahmad Sulaiman, says they are still negotiating with the abductors of the scholar regarding ransom demanded.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Malam Muhammad Kabir, said negotiation was still ongoing between the abductors and the family of the kidnapped scholar.
He said, “We have not arrived at a conclusion, so I cannot tell the exact amount they (abductors) are demanding from the family for now. But there is progress in the deal.
“I can assure the entire Muslim ummah that Sheikh Sulaiman is in good condition and that we are hoping that he will soon regain freedom.”
He urged Muslim ummah nationwide to pray for the scholar, saying there was no difficulty in this world that prayer could not solved.
It would be recalled that Sheikh Sulaiman and five other Islmaic scholars were abducted last Friday by unknown gunmen along Sheme-Kankara road in Katsina state while on their way to Kano from Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi state.
