Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has declared that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no cause to win the November 16, 2024 governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa, candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, stated this during his campaign tour to Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state, on Wednesday.
The governor said many chieftains of the PDP have pitched their tents with the ruling APC ahead of the election.
He added that the PDP no longer exists in the state, saying the party’s umbrella has been torn into shreds.

While describing their presence in the APC as a booster for the ruling party ahead of the election, Aiyedatiwa asked the people to troop out to vote for him.
“I want you to use our vote to chase away other political parties. As you know, all the gladiators in the PDP are now with us. We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds. In this coming election, your vote must be for the APC,” the governor said.
Earlier at Igbobini, Aiyedatiwa, who met a mammoth crowd of supporters, had appreciated them for their support and steadfastness, noting that their loyalty has made the ruling party wax stronger in the state.
