Newspapers, radio and television advertise every day about promotional exercise. There are unending juicy packages meant to goad the ever curious members of the public.

With the economic downturn, Nigerians are easily trapped like a blind sheep being led to a slaughter slab. It is so frightening that it is becoming a vicious circle and Nigerians are hardly able to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Some of these agencies promise giving Nigerians prizes in foreign currencies, others claim incredible prizes like jeeps, houses and holidays in the best cities of the world, amongst other puzzling gifts.

How long will the public fall prey to these hungry and insatiable shylock operators? The telephone sets are invaded every minute with exaggerated promises and Nigerians are falling flat to these cheats.

I am concerned like others about how long this oddity will continue before a big hammer comes down on them, so that the embarrassing texts that come at very unholy hours of the night can be checkmated once and for all.
