Of course, the broadcast was written for him. If Buhari had written the script, it would have been different. That is how I look at it. I say so because there are some things that if he wants to presen, he would have done differently.

Well, firstly I am very happy that he has returned safely so let’s pray that everything will get better. The president’s broadcast on Monday was a very good effort. He could have stayed for some days before addressing Nigerians but he felt that he should address his people so that they will be happy. As to the contents of the broadcast, the president has addressed all serious issues regarding the state of the nation and I agree with his points and I believe things will be okay, by the grace of God.

I disagree with President Buhari where he said our unity as Nigerians isn’t negotiable. Are we really united? When dealing with the criminals, kidnappers and so on, he should start from the top, the corrupt government officials. What have they done to arrest criminals and looters all this time?

I think it was perfect, because he was on point. He talked about the insecurity in the nation, the unity of the people, the economy and he left the country in good hands because he believed that his deputy can be trusted to run the affairs of the country. Firstly, I am happy that the president is back in the country and is currently getting better. In respect to his broadcast on Monday, I feel he has addressed some of the major issues of security and the disunity of the nation. All that is left is to implement them and make sure that the nation is stabilised.

My analysis of the president’s broadcast is that he is on point, in the sense that the issues that are affecting the country are security and the Biafra agitations. Although some political analysts are of the view that he should have focused on the economy, but without security there will be no viable and functional economy in any country. Therefore, to me, he did well.

There have been mixed feelings as to the kind of contents the broadcast had. Some people believe it should have addressed some issues but it didn’t, while some felt it was okay. A news review I heard said the president touched what people would consider as the major things that are happening in the country that borders on Boko Haram, the Biafra agitations, the call for restructuring, and all that.
