What does Sen. Misau really want to achieve?

Nigeria is systematically being thrown into the quagmire of extricating itself from the maniac stranglehold of some political power mongers and their sundry co-travelers, fruitlessly trying to turn the country into a political minefield to water their insatiable quest to possibly remain in power beyond 2019.

The ‘offence’ of President Muhammadu Buhari is that he has disagreed with the allegations traded on the floor of the Senate against some of his trusted aides particularly the Inspector-General of Police by Senator Isa Hamma Misau (Bauchi Central).

Senator Misau’s style of opposition has indeed enslaved and retarded the progress of democracy and good governance in many places, including the Senate. Since the inauguration of the 8th Senate, Misau has evidently failed to usher in any tangible development to the senatorial zone he represents other than hatred and ridicule. What the public reads, watches and hears on the stewardship of Misau are folktales. Misau has evidently personalized legislative functions to mean settling imaginary scores at the detriment of good governance. While his peers in the National Assembly are serving their areas with passion and carrying all along, Misau chose to meddle in less important issues all in an effort to undermine the powers that be. Most Nigerians are painfully watching from a safe distance the dangerous antics of those who have arrogated to themselves a questionable holier-than-thou posture, calling to the question and ridicule the integrity of their targets based on wild and  unsubstantiated allegations and generally pandering to the whims and caprices of their paymaster into their imaginable fight to overshadow those at the helm of affairs at the struggle for a better Nigeria.

Since the drama started, many kept their cool, believing that the harbingers of evil would realize the folly of their pastime and refrain for the good of Nigeria as the president is known to be laboring to clear the inherited mess.

Many were mistaken as rather than see reason and take the path of honor to put a stop to their barbaric, childish and dangerous hallucination, the busybodies, having lost it all and watching their dream up in smoke, took their infamy to a very ridiculous level. The low characters have gone haywire with a tinge of insomnia and desperation in their riot squad to further malign the Inspector-General for a bowl of porridge. As always, they end up cutting the pitiable picture of amateurish nonentities who fail to justify their mission.

They have left no one in doubt that they are on a character assassination mission on behalf of their like minds. Senator Misau and his co-travelers in the hidden opposition turned mischief makers should realize that those who want to come to equity must do so with clean hands. They have religiously made it a duty to dent the change mantra philosophy despite claim of membership. As spineless political jobbers, they cried to the heavens without let about imaginary extortion and corruption against the Inspector-General of Police, made endless visits to residences of respected politicians ostensibly to curry favour. In all the places visited, crude lies of this world were told to rope the Inspector-General in, but they usually end up frustrated. In most cases, they were not even honored with a whimper of a reply or even acknowledgement including those that had continuously been inundated with their tissues of lies and blackmail.

The day dreamers are indeed tactless. Or else how can one situate dragging a respected chief security personnel into a fight which he has all along refused to join although it has become the bout of the angst of the characters? A check on those mischief makers shows that those who in one way or the other had cause to interact with any of them are in regret, especially those who supported them to cruise on the APC boat.

As a responsible security officer battling to justify a mandate, the Inspector-General avoided joining issues with the drowning lawmakers for the good of the country. The silence of the Inspector-General must have infuriated his detractors to drag others to the feud. Those against the progress and security of Nigeria are at liberty to fight APC and the President Buhari administration to infinity but without associating other aides. Let them be told that legislating and representation differs from character assassination.

In their usual style of courting trouble, they started the fight on the pages of newspapers for recognition and we object to any behind the scene reproachment or truce until it conclusively and unambiguously put all the lies published and aired to their subjective inanities. What the senator and his handful of loyalists love doing is to naked the Nigeria Police Force in the market square only to seek to dress it in the comfort of a living room. All eyes should be set on NO RETREAT and NO SURRENDER until a loser emerges in the fight for the records. As stakeholders in the peaceful existence of the Nigerian state not minding who governs, we strategize to consign the mischief makers to the dust bin of history in 2019. The Inspector-General should  continue to ignore any wild goose chase by maintaining silence on the wild and unsubstantiated allegations, published and yet to be published and aired but we are laboring to protect and project the interest of the people and the polity from bastardization and disunity not minding whose ox is gored.
