Following his victory at the Appeal Court, PDP candidate for Dange-Shuni/Bodinga/Tureta Federal Constituency of Sokoto State, Dr Balarabe Kakale, has said youths, women, health and social protection will be in the front burner of his legislative agenda.
“We knew it was a stolen mandate; we knew how hard we campaigned, how hard we convinced and advocated about the need to have a new representation that connects with the people and at the grassroots, people had complained bitterly about the previous representation that they have been having,” he stated.
“It was quite a shock at the end of the polls that someone else was declared the winner but as law-abiding citizens we went to court as stipulated by the constitution to look for justice and we got one.”
The Court of Appeal had last week nullified the election of Aliyu Shehu of APC as the winner of the 2019 election for Dange-Shuni/Bodinga/Tureta Federal Constituency and ordered the return of Kakale as the victor.
Kakale said the constituency had been yearning for good leadership and representation at the National Assembly.
