For some, it could be their clothes,  skin, shoes, caps, handbags, neck or wrist wears, to mention a few.
To Asiya Hassan, a civil servant, the quality and fitting of clothes come before anything else. “If the clothes you wear don’t fit you properly and are of inferior materials, you wouldn’t look good. Because of that, I always try to get tailors who will sew them well even when it means paying more than I would have paid other tailors,” she said.
Judith Iyang, a student said the look of her hair is the most important when it comes to looking good. “I spend more on it than my clothes. I always ensure it is well braided, or fixed. I also buy nice and sometimes expensive weavons, wigs and hair ribbons and creams before thinking about my skin, clothes or accessories.”
Another respondent who simply gave her name as Tonia, a housewife said the look of her skin comes first .I don’t joke with the look of my skin. I always want it to be glowing and supple. So I always try to buy good creams. Although, I am a fashion conscious person and also buy good clothes, handbag and shoes, I make sure my skin looks good first. So I buy creams, good face powder, cleanser, scrubs and other things that make my skin good.”
Marylin Adebayo a, business woman, on her part said her phone is the most important in looking good. “I often walk around holding my phones, and can do without good clothes and shoes just to have a good phone. If my phone is of low quality , I don’t feel good. Though I know my clothes should also look good, I always ensure my phone is good first before clothes.”
Chioma Igwebike, a teacher said she has no favourite or prized fashion item. “I see every part of my body as important,  I only try to ensure that I am neat and presentable and do not spend a lot of money on anything just to look good.”
Moriamo Sule, a business woman  said her clothes and jewelleries go hand in hand before other things , “The way you package your clothes and jewelleries make statement wherever you go before other things, so they are the areas I make efforts to look good.”
Rebecca Bitrus,  a caterer, said she values her my make-up and perfume before others saying they make her look prettier than her clothes and accessories like bags and shoes.

Mr Abdulfattah Olalekan a civil servant said  his clothes are his most important fashion items particularly his native Agbada. “It is clothes that make people look good. All other things only complement them.” He said.
Julius  Terdidi, a Barrister said his most prized fashion item is his trousers, he always has special criteria for them to make him look good and ease flexibility of movement.
Ismaila, Saidu, a journalist said his most important fashion item is his shoes. “ I always want my shoes to look good so I spend money  buying good quality shoes than other things. I can wear simple clothes but not simple shoes. I mean the types that when you go to pray in the mosques and pull it, people will be asking who owns this shoe?”
While it is different strokes for different folks, it is important to ensure that while one item or area is one’s favourite, others are not neglected; an expensive and good looking hair for instance might end up looking out of place with unkempt clothes and shoes.
