Proper management of the airline has to be seriously taken into account. Political interference should be avoided and serious monitoring of every aspect of the operations respectively.

Unveiling the national carrier would really be a great thing because it would serve as a catalyst to the growth and development of other sectors of the economy. In this vein, the airline will not be established solely for profit but to support other sectors of the economy, like tourism. Aside that, I really feel it would be good for our country to have a national airline.

Having a national carrier isn’t only a source of generating revenue, but also a matter of national pride and patriotism. As a communications specialist, I would suggest an unveiling event in Nigeria and London, instead of having one only in London because that also sends a message to the people.

The assumption is that the decision to unveil in London is a business decision, since it was earlier stated that decisions about the airline will be made by partners in the private sector. Unveiling it in Nigeria can be an opportunity to develop national pride among Nigerians and unite the nation in such troubling times.

The new airline should not be unveiled in London, why going to London to unveil it? Can a British airline be unveiled in Nigeria?

Having a national carrier is a very good development. But the irony of launching our indigenous carrier in another country is pathetic and worrisome. I feel so sorry for us Nigerians because unveiling it in another country makes it look like it’s no longer an indigenous airline but a shared venture with the people of England. It’s always better to celebrate our achievements within our country because no country will ever unveil anything for the benefit of its people in another country.
