But, according to this proud father, he didn’t even have money for one bar of soap when the five babies arrived.
 When commenting on this incident in his Monday column a few days after, Trust newspapers’ deputy editor-in-chief, Mahmud Jega had argued that it was an irresponsible thing for a man who had nine months’ advanced warning from his wives’ protruding bellies to say that he was totally unprepared for the babies’ arrival. Mahmud wondered aloud how such a man could be the source of pride for his state.    
However, compared to the man who made ‘the World’s President’ Barack Hussein Obama very proud early this week, the Zamfara man is a much nobler, natural and safer source of pride. Jason Collins, an African American basketball star had decided to come out of the ‘closet’ and declare that he was a homosexual. But belonging to this despicable class of unnatural sinners is not a thing of shame anymore, indeed it is a source of pride in the US. Being the first big-time athlete to do so in American history, Collins immediately earned himself a presidential kudos when Obama phoned and congratulated him. In President Obama’s own words ‘I told him I couldn’t be prouder of him.’ Can you believe this?
The first time Barack Obama shocked me with his pro-gay stance was exactly one year ago when I was in Egypt. While packing my luggage at the end of my medical trip to Cairo, I decided to put on the TV to hear the latest news. There, on worldwide TV was the US President saying ‘Yes I think gay couples should be allowed to marry.’ I was totally shocked by the statement because I thought as a half-black and half-African, Obama will not give in to that most extreme of man’s sexual depravity. Most people interpreted that to mean Obama was desperate enough for re-election to throw even the most basic of family values overboard by supporting same-sex marriages.
However, today  Obama is a full-fledged second term president, so why does he need to stand for this same sinful anti-humanity practice? Homosexuality can lead to the extinction of the human race faster than any plague because it will end the natural process of creation by putting an end to procreation. When my senior colleague Idang Alibi wrote last year that Satan was the biggest winner in the US elections of November 6th, one couldn’t help feeling that he was being hyperbolic. But Idang’s point had been that satanic issues like gay rights and same-sex marriages were the determining factors in the election, and since they paid off in the end, then Satan had been the victor.
The instant celebration of Jason Collins is a proof of what Idang had said. Collins has become a hero by simply deciding to cast aside all shame and moral dignity through proclaiming his preference to sleep with fellow men. Among those falling over themselves to congratulate him are, former US president Bill Clinton, American first lady Michelle Obama, fellow NBA star Kobe Bryant and the Major Basketball League, MBL, as well as many others.  What I find most ironic about gays is how, in spite of their depravity, they still end up emulating heterosexual couples. I mean why should there be a ‘husband’ between two men when they have decided to shun the natural order of things? Why can’t they just be buddies, two men who have decided they prefer each other to the opposite sex? But whenever two gay men are shown on TV granting interviews, one must inevitably be disgustingly effeminate. He is the wife.
The same thing is played on the reverse when two lesbian women are fighting for their rights, one will be disgustingly masculine, with cropped hair, no jewelry and no make-up. She is the husband. But why is it necessary for her to look like the very gender she is running away from? Why should there be a wife between two women when they should just settle for being two friends gone astray? This is why I am inclined to believe that even these so-called gays don’t believe in what they are doing. Like Canadian intellectual Dr. Henry Makow had argued, they are just a bunch of new world orderlies who wish to plague the world with their depravity and hedonism, the sole aim of which is to destroy the traditional family institution. And now they are getting support from all kinds of politicians in their bid to legalize same-sex marriages. But why do they need a marriage when their very union is opposed to all that the holy institution of marriage stands for?
I couldn’t help noticing what I termed as the two ‘faces of Sharia’ in Europe when in the same week, French people who desired to protect the respected traditional family took to the streets to protest their government’s  plan to legalize same-sex marriages, much against the wishes of their politicians. Then in Russia a different crowd was protesting the government’s decision not to recognize same-sex marriages because strongman Putin was opposed to it. It was almost laughable if it wasn’t so disgusting to hear English-speaking Russians demanding their rights to all privileges accorded to their heterosexual counterparts.
One often wonders why so many influential voices are raised in defense of gay rights when they are supposed to be a small, immoral minority? Can there be truth in the theory that most world leaders are closet gays whose initiation rites into secret societies include homosexuality? Everything about this clamour for gay rights suggests so. Be that as it may, the rest of us must rise in staunch defense of the heterosexual family and denounce the homosexual type. We must enlighten our children to know of some subtle attempts to make us accept this unnatural and sinful lifestyle. This attempt is now in books and favourite TV programmes, in which a gay character is always featured as someone normal, to be cherished and accepted.
The sexuality education curriculum we fought against over a decade ago also has a section dealing with sexual orientation. In other words attempts will be made to teach our children to accept that feeling sexual attraction for members of the same sex is nothing wrong or unusual. I am glad we resisted it when this news paper did a cover story exposing what the draft sexuality education curriculum entailed. Both parents and teachers must be vigilant against any moves to smuggle such depravity into our school syllabus.
In the final analysis, we must rebel against this American attempt to globalize our values by forcing us to accept and take pride in proven immorality. Jason Collins has led the way, many others will follow, if only to fill President Obama’s heart with pride. A macho, six-foot-plus black man like him would have made some lucky kids a great father, but now that he has made an abominable choice, is he the wife or the husband? In other words, what now is Jason?
