What was it SEC could not uncover all these years?

In a Gestapo style, armed policemen barricaded the entire premises and subjected staff to embarrassment before being allowed entry into the building. It becomes more of a puzzle considering the fact that the Director-General Prof. Ndidi Okereke-Onyuike, had earlier in January this year, given notice of her retirement after a meritorious outing spanning over 35 years.

The question here is, what is it that the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), the supervisory agency discovered about the DG of NSE now that they did not find out these years? That the Director-General of the NSE has less than two weeks to proceed on her terminal leave only for her to be sacked makes it more sinister and indeed questionable. Apart from this, no tangible reason was adduced for the sack neither was the woman given the opportunity to pack her personal belongings from the office. Security operatives ransacked and turned things upside down while searching for only God knows what.

We are not just in a democratic dispensation, but under a government that believes so much in the rule of law. Even a condemned criminal has the right to be present while his/her office or residence is being searched and that is the practice all over the world, including even the banana republics.
Could the sack of the DG of the NSE be a fallout of power play involving some vested interests? What role did SEC play to avert or manage the crisis rocking the NSE? Who actually deployed the armed mobile policemen to the NSE buildings?
