At times the lie becomes the truth
The relatively older reader, on the other hand, might recall the famous line from Hitler’s information minister and henchman Goebbels. ‘A lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.’ Whatever quote is conjured up in your mind as you glance at this piece, the lesson of it is that lies, artfully crafted and placed in the right environment, can acquire the semblance of truth; at least for some measure of time.
Tomorrow is September 11th , the day that some say, had changed the world. International media have spared no pains to remind us that they are celebrating the 9/11 decade. Documentaries, interviews and all kinds of scoops are making their way into our newspapers and TV screens, because it is, after all, a decade of achievement. The War on Terrorism is 10 years old.
On May 12th this year an event of immense international importance happened at the Southwark Crown court in London. A man called Anthony John Hill was discharged and acquitted of the charge of attempting to ‘pervert the course of justice.’ Mr Hill had spent close to a year in custody over this charge. His crime was making a video called ‘The Ripple Effect’ in which he claimed that both 9/11 and London 7/7 (the attacks on three British underground trains and a bus on July 7th 2005) were false flag operations staged with the knowledge and complicity of British and US governments, and sending this video documentary to a court jury as well as posting a copy on Youtube.
When Anthony Hill finally had his day in court after several months of being denied permission to attend it from prison, he made an in-depth analysis of the two events before a jury which found his arguments convincing enough to acquit him. This is the first time such allegations of false flag terror attacks were made in front of a jury that found them credible enough to acquit the accused. So why was this monumental event kept out of the news?
Today the world is almost evenly divided between those who believe that 9/11 happened just the way the official story claims, that is through a suicide-hijack attack undertaken by 19 Muslim men; and those who believe it was an inside job planned and staged by US secret service agents in order to pin the blame on Muslims and find the perfect pretext to invade their oil-rich lands. Backing the official story is the United Nations, most governments in the Americas and Europe, most governments in Africa and Asia, and most governments in the Middle East. The whole weight of international media is with the official story.
On the side of the sceptics and down-right deniers are lots and lots of researchers who had dissected the many claims made in the suicide hijack theory and found more questions than answers. These are professional men and women who have used their expertise and experience in various fields of human endeavour to make their investigations and reach the conclusions they did. What started as a loose coalition of sceptics known as the 9/11 Truth Movement has since blossomed into a big league of professionals simply called The 9/11 Truth. Thus you have Scholars for 9/Truth just as you have Architects, Engineers, Fire fighters and numerous others for 9/11 Truth.
The findings of the Truth Activists tally with the contents of Anthony John Hills’ documentary video The Ripple Effect. They also agree in many ways with the contents of journalist Thierry Meyssan’s book 9/11: The Big Lie, written in the year 2002. They echo what American activist Carol Valentine posted on the internet as early as October 5th 2001, less than a month after 9/11 and two days before America’s invasion of Afghanistan. Ms. Valentine’s 15-page treatise was simply titled ‘There were no suicide bombers on September 11th.
But from all of the alternative researches carried out by these independent individuals and professionals, suicide hijackers are not the only fictional aspect of 9/11. There were no hijacked planes, no missing passengers and the towers did not fall neatly on themselves due to the planes impact but because of explosives neatly tucked into different floors of it. The evidence against planes was first raised by US Air Force Colonel Nelson who couldn’t believe that Boeing planes could hit the towers and just get incinerated. He argued that any plane that ever crashed anywhere in the world left debris that could be identified as plane parts, however little they are in size, except the planes of 9/11. Though miraculously, these thoroughly incinerated planes still managed to drop hijack leader Mohammed Attah’s passport on the streets of Manhattan, unscathed.
Thierry Meyssan, while writing on Pentagon’s ‘phantom’ plane argued that a Boeing plane hitting the pentagon would have made a remarkably huge damage to the building but the little damage to the Pentagon’s lawn and a hole barely enough to accommodate a helicopter allegedly made by the hijacked plane only showed that a Boeing plane was nowhere near Pentagon that morning of September 11th. Elias Davidson of the Icelandic chapter of the 9/11 Truth movement had wondered why the 9/11 commission failed to invite any airline staff who might have attended to any of the four planes while passengers were boarding, for them to narrate what they saw. For sure such staff will be the last to have seen those hijacked passengers alive, why weren’t they summoned to the commission? Additionally, since no one can board a plane without a boarding pass, where are the boarding pass stubs after the leaves had been issued to the passengers? Surely it is traditional to keep the stubs as evidence of who boarded what and sat where?
The latest on the 9/11 Commission, which was set up by former US president George W Bush is that the chairman, vice chairman and senior legal counsel to the commission have all written books partially dissociating themselves from the commission’s report. According to Paul Craig Roberts, political analyst and former adviser to President Reagan, in his article ‘A decade after 9/11: Have we learnt anything?’ The commission’s chairman Thomas Kean and his vice Lee Hamilton have both written that the commission ‘was set up to fail’. They complained that the Bush administration put obstacles in their path, that information was withheld from them and that Bush agreed to testify only if he’ll be chaperoned by Dick Cheney and neither of them was put under oath. Kean added that the ‘NORAD tapes tell us a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public….. We to this day don’t know why NORAD told us what they told us, it was just so far from the truth.’ In his own book, the commission’s senior counsel John Farmer Jr wrote that the US government made ‘a decision not to tell the truth about what happened.’ These three officials of the commission wondered why questions from victims’ families were not answered and why important witnesses were not called, seeing the sitting as a controlled political operation not as an investigation of events and evidence.
Talking about victims’ families, we must not forget that when the Bush administration offered to pay a million dollar per head as compensation to families/dependants of all 9/11 victims, a BBC world report said 60% of the relatives turned down the money. This is because it came with a caveat that whoever collected the money must never consider taking a legal course against either the US government or the airlines allegedly involved.
Everything about September 11th 2001 smirks of official cover-up and a deliberate decision to distort the truth. So however much international media tried to enforce the official story of 9/11 using the Bin Laden/Al-Qaida line, it will be hard for them to sound convincing given what we know now. Yes a lie can sometimes be transformed to a truth, and yes two wars are being fought, while millions have died in the one decade since 9/11 was staged but it’s too early celebrate yet. A London court has already acquitted Anthony John Hill of any wrongdoing in describing 9/11 and 7/7 cover-ups in which the governments are complicit, more of such will come until the lie that was 9/11 is exposed in full. Then those who aided and abetted these conspiracies will have to live with the consequences of their actions.
