There are four categories of sins which defile the land as revealed in the Word of the Lord. These sins bring a curse over the people. A curse takes place in an area where the holiness, righteousness and other attributes of God are not acknowledged. A curse is a gateway to demonic possession and control. Sin brings a curse, whether it is done by an individual or many people.

Even one person can bring the whole nation into defilement. The bible is very firm on sin. God hates sin because it separates His own people from Him, and when not repented, may lead to eternal damnation. All sins must be repented of. When sin is not repented of, it is not forgiven. Even time does not erase sin. Therefore, the sins of previous generation may bring a curse upon the people of today.

These are four categories of sin revealed in the word which defile our land, people and nations are: Bloodshed-causes the ground to be cursed and not be fruitful resulting in poverty in many areas of our land and nations. You may do a research on the history of nations which suffered hunger, drought and economical instability. Genesis 4.

Immorality (see Genesis 6) results in reduced life span, loss of authority in spiritual matters, uncontrollable sexual lust, pollution of human mind, and demonic possession to the extent that those who do such have their minds darkened. See also Romans 1. This results in breaking the stream of supernatural presence.

Broken covenants and Injustice – People breaking oaths, marital vows, not doing what they know ought to be done, etc. See Ezekiel 14:13 and 21. In Joshua 9, the nation was cursed for breaking the covenant with one of the nations in Canaan, to let them live.

Idolatry. This is a sin against God Himself. He likens it to spiritual adultery. Exodus 20:5. This includes worship of man (e.g. humanism, democracy or hero worship), greed (materialism), idealism (such as communism), nationalism, patriotism (e.g. when the nation is more important than God’s ways) and religious systems that deny the word of God that states that: “For there is no other name than the name of Jesus under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” Acts 4:12. Idolatry removes the presence of the Lord from society, opening a gateway to a demonic influence.

When the nation prays, sins of our leaders are forgiven; the land is purged of all sin and the curses resulting from sin. The sin of the past are blotted out of our lives and generational curses are nullified. A nation which has united itself under one, true living, immortal, invincible, the omnipresent, the omnipotent, and the omniscient God who is from eternity to eternity, dwelling in the light which no man can approach by himself (1 Timothy 6:16).

Justice in the government sectors shall be established, and righteousness shall govern the people of the land. Oh the beauty of “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133:1.

Dear friend, there is no revival without prayer, neither a prayer which shall not result in Revival. Let us break the curse, let the bride call unto her groom and say, “Lord, send us Revival!” It is time that the nation is called to prayer, it begins with me, and you, and us, and everybody else.

Let’s pray: “Give us the hunger for our nation, our leader and our people. Restore our prayer life as a nation, and then your people shall know your name, in Jesus name! Amen!”
