That was the opening statement by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye at the recently concluded Holy Ghost Service held at the church’s expansive camp ground at Tudunwada, Nassarawa State along the Abuja-Keffi highway.
The special service which bore the theme “Emmanuel, God with us” drew Christian faithful in tens of thousands from various parts of northern Nigeria. In attendance was the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku who represented the President Goodluck Jonathan; Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Permanent Secretary, Biodun Olorunfemi; World Bank Senior Executive, Oby Ekwesili; erstwhile Speaker of House of Representatives, Patricia Etteh; and a host of other dignitaries from all walks of life.
During the concluding service, Adeboye who read copiously from various parts of the scriptures: Isaiah, Psalms, Malachi, Genesis, Exodus, Judges, Joshua, Luke and others urged the crowd to put all their burden and trust in Emmanuel (Jesus) because he cares for their well being.
He sermonised, “When He sits, he is in control. When He stands, everything trembles. When He is moving, everything scatters. When He is passing by, you can grab your miracles. When Emmanuel visits you, the irreversible becomes reversed. Imagine what would happen when he decides to stay with you.”
The service marked the end of the three-day programme which had included the GO’s meeting with church workers in the region and a praise night. This was the 10th edition since the inaugural one, “Let the wind blow” which was held at the Papal Ground, Kubwa, Abuja.
Other meetings such as Divine Encounter, God of Wonders, Let There be Light and King of Kings have been held over the years attracting multitudes across northern Nigeria.
According to the chairman of the program planning committee, Pastor Chinedu Obiezeli, efforts are being made to develop the camp which at present lacks essential facilities befitting a camping ground.
