The recent case that is worrisome is the drama that follows what ought to be a simple transfer of power between President Umaru Musa Yar’adua and Vice President Goodluck Jonathan when the former was going to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment. For a reason best known to them, some politicians in their usual manner are believed to have misled the ailing President Yar’adua not transmit vacation letter. Whether this is true or not, the country is allowed to feel the unnecessary heat for about 80 days before the leadership of the National Assembly brought a political solution which is believed to be a temporary solution.
Now that the issue has been resolved temporarily, there is need to appeal to our politicians to help nurture and develop the Nigerian democracy.
