It doesn’t come as a surprise on why this is rated high. In Nigeria most motorist give more attention to tyres and brakes to give them confidence on the road. We recall in an interview with Abubakar Umar, which never published on our page. He mentioned the desire to have good tyres and brakes as a major concern.
So far on comment stands out very technically from Shai S. Cohen commemts “Low profile tires don’t provide better grip because they are wider. The low profile of the tire allows for less of a slip angle which should not be confused with slipping. The low profile also provides better stability during repeated rapid course correction. The improvement is due to the tire walls ability to resist bending under lateral loading. Less bending keeps the vehicle motion more predictable and in line with the “intention” of the suspension system and the roll axis of the vehicle. A diagram would have made this much easier to understand.”
I don’t agree with very much because low profile tyres have lower melting points which help to generate grip on the highway and keeps it on track. You in turn may have a different opinion but I believe it has more grip with lesser and wider thread marks to cover a larger surface area.
