The World Health Organisation (WHO) has donated 34 motorcycles to Katsina state government to boost disease surveillance across the state.

Speaking at the Commissioning of WHO  renovated office and handing over of the motorcycles, WHO country representatives Dr Wondimagegnehu Alemu called on states to augment budgetary provision to budget in line the anticipated bench mark of 15 percent.

He said, WHO’s three key areas of operation include Promotion of health, through preventive services, Protection of people from any health security risk, diseases outbreak as well as Serving the vulnerable in the society like children , mothers, elderly and the Internally Displaced Persons.

He assured of their readiness  to support and allign with government priority to achive the set objectives in health care delivery.

In his remarks, the permanent secretary ministry of health, Dr Mustapha Kabir said government has an improved buget allocation of 11 percent to the health sector adding that a renewed move is on ground to ensure a viable primary health centres across the state.
