The attempt by some sponsored voters, under the umbrella of the concerned citizen of Northern Kaduna senatorial district to recall Senator Sulaiman Hunkuyi is uncalled for and unwise. The so-called forum has petitioned INEC chairman requesting for referendum to recall the senator because of what they termed “poor representation” from him. 

Although, the forum has failed to provide the detail of areas in which the senator failed, they went ahead with their hatched job to issue a press release. Unknown to them, two wards cannot make a required quorum out of eight local governments to recall a serving senator. What about the other local government which benefited immensely from Hunkuyi’s magnitudes and good representation?

This move can be seen as total blackmail by some antics whose store in trade is to tarnish the towering image of the senator. To say Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi has failed his constituency is a blatant lies. Within the period under review, Senator Hunkuyi has achieved great feat in all aspects of human development. In Zaria local government where the voters claimed to have come from, Senator Hunkuyi distributed bags of cement, bundles of zinc, clothes and money to the victims of flood in Tukur-Tukur ward. The senator has also distributed 30 transformers worth 45million naira to his constituency. In the area of education, senator Hunkuyi spent 16.8million naira every semester to sponsor 182 undergraduate in Nigeria universities, 10 others females doctors at the Islamic university of Uganda.

The senator recently launched free medical treatment in his constituency. Over10,000 people who suffered from various ailments such as hernia, cataracts, appendices and fibroid benefited from the program. In a bid to check mate the problem of insecurity in Zone One, Senator Hunkuyi distributed 9 golf cars, 40 motorcycles and other security gadgets to security personal. These and countable numbers of project singled out Senator Hunkuyi as the best among his contemporaries. We have expected the plotters to carry out this simple home assessment before coming up with their empty recall threats. The planned recall is bound to fail because the people of Zone One are solidly behind Senator Hunkuyi.
