I have noticed that children are victims of abuse in many places in Nigeria. I don’t know if it has been so from the beginning of time.

The advent of the social media has played a major role in spreading stories of different children who have suffered abuse in one way or another. It is really sad that we have monsters posing as humans.

That is the only explanation for an adult to use a hot pressing iron on a child because he ate yam without their permission. Some beat these children to the point of scarring them for life. And most of the children being abused are relatives to the abusers who use them for child labour.

This has to stop. Although government and non-governmental organisations have taken measures to fight this anomaly, we need to do more as a country.

Do not be an enabler. Always report any form of abuse you witness. This will go a long way in liberating the children going through abuse.
