With the sterling results so far achieved by this administration, President Muhammadu Buhari  needs to contest the 2019 presidential election to complete the good work he is doing to save the nation from total collapse.

All those who clamoured for the Buhari presidency are happy that the Daura-born general has tackled a couple of very vexed issues such as Boko Haram, and is working to tackle kidnapping and armed robbery. The Buhari administration came into power when no one, except those in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, knew that we are heading for economic recession.  Though warnings came from the former Central Bank Governor now Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi ll and former Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, they fell on deaf ears and shortly after Buhari took over, the nation was plunged into an economic crisis. But like Boko Haram, we will soon be out of recession.

Before the current administration, Nigeria was battling massive unemployment, unstable power supply, unbridled corruption among others, but two years after, the Buhari government has been able to address some of these issues. Corruption is being tackled headlong, though it is fighting back like a wounded bull. Of course, we are not there yet because of the enormity of the problems this government inherited from the past administration, but we can all agree that progress has been made. Millions of Nigerians are encouraged by the achievements recorded so far. The Buhari presidency has demonstrated that it can be trusted. For the first time, a sitting president willingly transmitted power to the vice president, while travelling out of the country. So, those who are working to cause division in the presidency should desist. Some people are trying to create the wrong impression that anytime PMB is away, things work. But I must clearly state here that things also work when Buhari is on seat. The current administration is made up of a very strong team that is not going to give in to divisive tendencies, but will work to move the country forward.

Therefore, we cannot take chances, we need to sustain this Buhari-Osinbajo team beyond 2019. It will not make sense if Buhari and Osinbajo are not allowed to complete what they have started.
