Speaking in Abuja recently Obaleye warned that affordable housing in Nigeria will remain a mirage unless access to land is made easy.
“If there’s no easy access to land, it will be difficult to talk of affordable housing,” he maintained adding that that land administration system has contributed to high cost of land and affordable housing.
Obaleye pointed out that the housing sector in Nigeria today suffers due to lack of support just as he noted that it is equally difficult to get mortgage even as the cost of mortgage loan has remained very high.
