The convener of the group, Dr Prince Awuzie said recent upsurge in inflammatory remarks  and propaganda  from the front-line political parties including actual acts of vandalism are   disturbing and have become a serious cause for concern.
 Established in 2014, NARIF is  committed to utilizing the instrument of healthy individual relationships to promote  peace, ethnic integration, foster of unity among diverse groups and support good governance.
 According to the convener, “The family, being the unit of the society is our major focus because everyone belongs to a family. Families must see themselves across ethnic divide as one, and must work together to resist the elite from impacting their children with wrong ideologies”
 Dr Awuzie who is also a consultant psychiatrist said “Nigerians are beginning to acquire paranoid and sociopathic characteristics with such instances of megalomania, overbearing sense of entitlement, suspicion”
 He stressed that unlike the early 1960s and 1980s, the morale of Nigerians are at an all time low having been battered by sponsored press, unprofessional journalism, bourgeoning social media and veiled attacks and subversions.
 Dr Awuzie said the situation is heightened by the disturbing and confounding development  where elder statesmen are beginning to join the band wagon, adding that fresh dimensions and deepening already established divides amongst the polity.
“The result is that there is waning trust in governments both at  federal,  state and local levels as we observe    a brazen show of disunity and disconnection,” he added.
 The group urges Nigerians to collectively refrain from bias, nepotism and selfishness and replace such dispositions with patriotism and love for one another.
