The Bridge Clinic, a leading fertility centre, has stressed the need for independent and authoritative assessment of practices in the treatment of fertility related issues among couples.
 The firm, which also announced the achievement of a 49 percent pregnancy rate for its gold standard patients in 2015, said benchmarking its services against leading fertility treatment service providers around the world informed audit of operations by Alexander Forbes, known as the world’s leading financial solutions, administration services and corporate consulting firm.
The Head, Verification Services, Alexander Forbes, Ibilola Akinla, said at the presentation of the audited report that available data for 2015 showed that the Bridge Clinic recorded a total of 215 pregnancies from a total of 758 clients that had valid treatment during the year under review.
 Akinla said, “In carrying out our audit, using the data as provided by the clinic, we found that the Bridge Clinic achieved a pregnancy rate of 49 percent from its client who are in the golden standard age bracket of between 21 and 34 years of age. It also achieved an overall pregnancy rate of over 22 percent.
 “Our audit also found that the clinic had a total of 91 babies, comprising of 61 single births and 15 twin births in 2015 and has delivered a total of 1,203 children since 2006,” he said.
 The General Manager, the Bridge Clinic, Dr. Ekundayo Omogbehin, said the company retained the services of the frontline business services consultancy in order to have an independent and authoritative assessment of its practice.
