Fresh graduates face difficulties in getting jobs because they do not have work experience or technical skills.

Director of Consultancy, Bayero University Kano (BUK), Professor Mukhtar Haliru, made the remark recently. He said most employers preferred to hire people with experience and fresh graduates who had little or no skills spent long time searching for jobs. He said most organisations wanted to employ workers with certain years of experience. A source said volunteer work was seen as one of the solutions to the problem: volunteering is the process of working in an organisation with no financial gain.
