A female London to Lagos solo driver, Pelumi Nubi, Sunday arrived Lagos to a rousing welcome after embarking on the trip for 68 days.
She said she embarked on the long, strenuous journey to prove that nothing is impossible and to showcase the beauty of the African continent.
Daily Trust reports that the Nigeria-British citizen was received at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border by the Lagos State government delegation led by Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka and the Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe.
Amidst excitement, dancing and singing, the solo driver was received at the border between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

From the border, Pelumi headed to the University of Lagos where a reception was hosted in her honour by the university management in the presence of other dignitaries including the Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, among others.
Parents of the Pelumi were also on ground where they expressed excitement having waited for her in the last two months with anxiety and fear.
It would be recalled that the 28-year old who is a travel content creator survived a crash in March with her vehicle substantially damaged.
She started the journey from England to France, Spain before heading to Morocco, navigating through the West Sahara Desert.
The journey also took her through Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin before arriving in Lagos.
Speaking during a reception for her at the University of Lagos, the excited Pelumi thanked God for making her journey a successful one. She also appreciated the support of her parents.
Pelumi vowed to continue to inspire the next generation and show that “Exploring our continent is very important.”
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola commended Pelumi for her courage.
