Police in Niger state have arrested two suspects for kidnapping a 10-year-old boy.

The suspects are Yushau Bala, who worked as a security guard in the resident of one Mohammed Hadi – the victim’s father – and Sale Bala who was recruited by the first suspect.

One of the suspects, Yushau Bala, who is allegedly the mastermind of the abduction, said he kidnapped the victim, Afdal Mohammed Hadi, to punish the parents who had accused him of theft in their house.

Yushau, said he had never been accused of stealing in his life and when he was accused and sent out of the house, he decided to stage the abduction as a payback.

“That is why I decided to punish them by kidnapping their son,” he said.

Yushau said he recruited Sale Bala for the job, adding that it was Bala that made the phone call to the victim’s parents.

According to the police, the suspects kidnapped the boy and took him to an unknown place.

They demanded a N150,000 ransom from the victim’s parents before they were arrested.
