Dodo in an interview in Jalingo, said he decided to present himself after due consultations with the people who want him to provide ‘purposeful and meaningful’ leadership to the state.
“I went to school at the expense of public treasury and I feel it is necessary to give back to the state at this time. PDP government in the state has collected over N100 billion since 1999 but there is no accountability for it,” he said.
He said only a negligible amount of resources that accrued to the state had so far been utilised in providing development for people of Taraba State.
He promised prudent management of resources accruing to the state to help in addressing health, education, security, social infrastructure and other needs of the state if elected come February 28.
Dodo debunked insinuations that he was sponsored into the race to split votes for Senator Aisha  Jummai Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who hails from the same northern zone as himself.
“I have no squabble with Aisha, she is a sister and an associate. I enjoy good relationship with her. But then, she belongs to the APC and I belong to PDM. As loyal member of PDM, I decided to present myself for people of Taraba. I am not out to split votes,” Dodo said.
