Why I prioritise staff strength, welfare – Bwari LEA scribe

The Education Secretary of the Bwari Local Education Authority (LEA), Solomon Ayuba Dagami, has said his decision to prioritse adequate teaching and non-teaching staff in primary and junior secondary schools in the council is to enable students in his domain to compete favourably with others in the FCT and beyond.

Dagami who spoke with Daily Trust in Bwari at the weekend said no meaningful learning could take place if there were no adequate and competent teachers.

The ES said for the past five to six years, students in the council that participated in the JETS competition had been emerging best among others in the territory.

He explained, “We have to instill discipline in our staff, and we are able to do that because we don’t play with their welfare. We will continue to do that, especially in the area of promotion.’’

He, therefore, appealed to parents, especially those in rural communities, to enroll their children in schools for a brighter future.
