Details are begining to emerge on why President Goodluck Jonathan asked his Chief of Staff Mike Ogadiomhe to resign with immediate effect.

Sources in the Presidency said this afternoon that Oghiadomhe was fired for his alleged complicity in the $20billion scam rocking the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

It was gathered that the president had earlier this morning summoned him for questioning over the matter.

Another source, who pleaded not to be unveiled, told our correspondent that the development might not be unconnected to Oghiadhome’s refusal/failure to write Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Wamakko that the president would visit the state last Saturday.

According to the source, the president was angry that Oghiadohme flouted his directive to intimate Wamakko of his visit to the state.

Daily Trust reports that Oghiadhome was absent at the global conference on power financing earlier held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa earlier this morning.
