But why do we find bags so desirable? It’s partly because they’ve become a unique outward statement of a woman’s status, fashion savvy and earning power – and the rising popularity of handbags over the past 100 years has followed the increasing social independence of their owners.
At that time, the idea of a woman parading her personal belongings in a visible pocket was as shocking to many as if she had taken her knickers off and waved them in the air – and, as a result, reticules were dubbed “ridicules” for a while.For some time, handbags were seen as sexual items – the expression “old bag” for a woman who is past her sexual prime is a lingering part of that legacy.
What necessitate a woman choice of handbag?  ladies love big handbags most ladies these days cannot go about without their hand bags because it gives them this ladylike and classy look instead of moving around  the place swinging their arms like  guys. It is always good a lady  moves around with a hand bag especially the big ones, since every lady has her own reason for carrying big hand bags.
Most ladies prefer carrying  big hand bags because its the new fashion status indicator, as they have the tendency to reflect the person’s taste. It makes one look sophisticated and classy because big hand bags are more expensive compared to the smaller ones.
Ladies prefer to carry big hand bags because they contain most of the things they need for the whole day.
Big bags offer ladies the opportunity of carrying electronic items like phones, laptops among others. They also carry make-up essentials, body splashes, hand sanitizes among others. One never can tell where crises strike or even when an impromptu meeting calls. With your big bag you need only walk into any female convenience around and freshen up and you will be good to go, but with your small hand bag, you will have to limit what things to  carry in it.
For most ladies handbagss represent her world of secret. We have different kind of bags with different designers like: Gucci hand bags,    Louis Vuitton hand bags, Chanel  hand bags, Dooney and Bourke hand bags, prada handbags and coach hand bags. These days, although they no longer have a racy reputation, they have lost none of their sex appeal and this is probably because the bag remains an accessory that is still very closely associated with all of our most intimate possessions.
Some women opine that  bags contain their survival kits for daily life in the urban jungle – from mobile phones, tampons, make-up, money and keys, to hair straighteners, laptops, blackberries, chewing gum, condoms or a change of clothes.
As a result, its mystique remains intact: many men find the complexities of what women carry in a handbag thrillingly obscure and would never dare to invade its privacy.
Most women would feel incomplete without their handbags. Fashion these days for most woman has to do with their choice of hand bag to merge wth their clothe so as stand out from the crowd.
It’s a trend which has fuelled the incredible growth of the handbag industry in the past decade. By 2006, one report showed that sales of bags were growing at twice the rate of clothes.
Next time you see a woman carrying handbag that look like a travelling bag you should know she has her reason of carrying such bag.
