Most ladies say they prefer carrying  big hand bags because it is the new fashion status indicator, as they have the tendency to reflect the person’s taste.
A respondent who doesn’t want her name mentioned said big hand bags  make one look more sophisticated and  are more expensive compared to the smaller ones.
Some other ladies interviewed said ladies prefer to carry big hand bags because they contain most of the things they need for the whole day.
According to Sarah, a 300 lavel student of pharmacy, University of Maiduguri, “Ladies love big bags because it enables them carry electronic items like phones, laptops among others.”
Racheal a Mass Communication student of the  same university said, “I love to carry big  bag because I can keep make-up essentials, body splashes, hand sanitizers to mention a few.
“Also one cannot predict when crises may arise or even when an impromptu meeting calls. With your big bag you need only walk into any female convenience around and freshen up and you will be good to go, but with your small hand bag, you will have to limit what things to  carry in it.”
For most ladies handbags represent their world of secret. We have different kind of bags with different designers like: Gucci,    Louis Voutton Channel, Dooney and Bourke, Prada and coach hand bags.
In addition big bags remains an accessory that is still very closely associated with all of our most intimate possessions. They can contain our survival kit for daily life in the urban jungle – from mobile phone, tampons, make-up, money and keys, to hair straighteners, laptops, Blackberries, chewing gum, or a change of clothes.
As a result, its mystique remains intact: many men find the complexities of what women carry in a handbag obscure and would never dare to invade its privacy.
Next time you see a woman carrying handbag that look like a travelling bag you should know she has her reason of carrying such bag.
