Speaking on the range of new technology recently launched into the Nigerian market by the company, LG’s  General Manager, Home Entertainment division, West Africa operations, Mr. Steve Ryu said the electronics company are innovating by the day because consumers are now demanding for products that are capable of delivering on multifarious levels- beyond the basic.
With newer technology, Ryu said, the emphasis is often chiefly on function, with form becoming important only later.
But this rule of thumb, he said,  is becoming less and less true over time, especially as personal tastes in technological devices becomes almost as important to our self identity as the clothes we wear or the music we listen to.
“Gone are the days when simply offering a product with superior functionality would lead to increased sales. Now the device has to look great to fit the user’s personality, it also has to function flawlessly with usability enhancing design elements. Products that achieve this become industry standards for the next wave of trends, while the products that fail are relegated to permanent second-tier status. This is why leading electronics companie,  Like LG,  are currently developing user-friendly products with enhanced designs”, he said.
